RxVerify^© is software which uses the medication barcode to ensure quality assurance for the medication restocking process.  The medication barcode is a proven and effective control measure for preventing medication restocking errors.  This software is used by pharmacy technicians for accurately restocking the following medication storage location types:

• Anesthesia/Surgery Medication Trays

• Code Cart Med Trays
• Emergency Med Boxes
• Med Transport Kits
• Surgery Med Carts
• RSI Kits
• Hyperthermia Kits
• Epidural Trays/Kits
• Any medication storage kit/box

RxVerify© not only provides quality assurance for medication selection, but it also prevents medications which are  expired or near expiration from being used for restocking.   The screen print below is an example of RxVerify© restocking at work:

Screen sample below demonstrates when the correct medication was scanned.  The technician is now prompted to move forward and to enter the medication's expiration date!

Features of RxVerify^©:

• E-mail Alerts are automatically sent to pharmacy staff anytime expired drugs are detected in inventory.  RxVerify^© prevents expired medications from being used at the time of restocking.

• Prevents wrong drug selection due to look alike and sound alike items.

• RxVerify^© uses audible sound responses at the time of scanning that will clearly identify a match or mismatch.  The technician can clearly hear by the sound generated if the correct or incorrect medication was scanned.

• Location tracking tool for documenting where the items are stored or issued at any given time
• Recall report to find where a specific NDC is stored within all RxVerify^© locations at any given time.
• Medication Error prevention report to demonstrate the errors that were overted from using the program.
• Workload comparison reports that demonstrate the division of workload between technicians and pharmacists.
• RxVerify^©   also has an IV Kit fill function for dispensing IV medicated drip kits.
